U.S. Rep. Mac Thornberry knows his decision to retire from Congress swiftly became lumped in as part of the “Texodus” of — now six — Republicans recently announcing they were not seeking re-election.
But all that is just spin to the longtime congressman who until January 2021 will continue to represent the 13th Congressional District of Texas.
“All of those story lines don’t really apply to me,” Thornberry, R-Clarendon, said Tuesday.
